About Me & My Approach

About Me

I am a warm and approachable, experienced therapist, committed to providing a confidential, empathic and non-judgmental space where you are welcome to talk about and explore any issues that are causing you distress.

Your needs and goals will always be central to our work. I will not push or direct you but work with you to help identify, understand and address any aspects in your life which you may find problematic or confusing.

Alongside my private practice, I have worked in the NHS for several years, in primary care as well as for a London NHS Trust, which included working with people affected by a cancer diagnosis.

I see clients with many different problems, such as anxiety, bereavement, loss, relationship or workplace issues, feeling stuck etc., Whatever it is, we will work together to help ease your distress or pain.

I understand that taking the step to see a counsellor may feel daunting. If you decide to take that step you might find that counselling can make a real difference when you’re going through tough times and that feeling accepted for who you are, feeling heard and understood and not judged for what you feel or think, does help.

I have dual citizenship – British and German - and I have lived and worked in different countries before settling in the UK.

I am an accredited member of the BACP and committed to its Ethical Framework in my work. I am also committed to continued professional development.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

My Approach

I am a humanistic psychotherapist and counsellor, more specifically a person-centred counsellor.

I believe that a non-threatening, empathic and accepting therapeutic relationship, with a therapist who is open and transparent, is the basis for therapeutic change.

This will happen as part of a collaborative process where I will help you explore and clarify what is happening in your life and to engage with your choices.

Sometimes we may find that family or friends have strong views or a particular interest in our decisions. Person-centred therapy is different in this regard as I will listen attentively, trying to see things from your perspective, without judging you or wanting a certain outcome.

What works for one person may not work for another and my approach is therefore tailored to your needs. We will have regular reviews to ensure you are getting what you feel you need.
